Our college counselor, Kim Dong, is passionate about matching students to the path that fits them academically and spiritually. Read more about the navigation process here.
Students begin this navigation in the first semester of each year as our college counselor, Kim and school secretary, Page introduce the process during a morning chapel. They do an overview and outline of the steps which include; prayer, purpose, preparation, goals, and plan. Each student is given a countdown to college calendar to help them map out the high school years.
Kim partners with parents and works diligently with students, especially during their last years in high school. She offers a Senior College Night in the Fall and a Junior College Night in the Spring for students and families to attend. In October, the juniors and seniors take a field trip to the Hawaii College Fair in Waikoloa. There are over 40 participating exhibitor booths to visit. In addition there are many visits from Universities to our campus, as well as several University admissions events off campus that our students are invited to attend.
Kim builds relationships with each of our students and their families through the high school years that walk them through the entire college planning, application, and selection process.
80% of our graduates attend a university, with the other percentage on the mission field or in the military. We are proud of our graduates and their hunger for knowledge.
