And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 1:8-12

Dear Parents,

The above passage from Luke is so familiar at Christmas. I find it to be comforting, too. As I was typing this, I noticed that the angel said that this good news is for all the people. We are all included in that. I like being told good news and this is the best-a Savior has been born to us! Have a blessed Christmas time!

The second quarter ends on Friday, Dec. 15. Report cards will be mailed shortly after that for all grades. Please make sure your child has all their work caught up.

Our elementary Christmas program is next Wed., Dec. 13 at the Old Airport Events Pavilion starting at 6:30 pm. Students can start arriving at 6:15. Please bring a plate of Christmas cookies for our time of fellowship after the program. We will have cookies and cocoa. Please invite family and friends to join us.

The morning of Wed., Dec. 13 we will be at the Events Pavilion to rehearse for the program that night. We will leave elementary at 8:30 am to go to the Old Airport and then return to school from the park at 1:00. We need parents to drive both ways. We also need parents to stay and help decorate while the children rehearse. Thanks for your help.

Next Friday, Dec. 15 school will be dismissed at 11:00 am. There will be NO after school care that day. Please make other arrangements for your children.

Our Christmas break is 3 weeks and goes from Dec. 16-Jan. 7. Our first day back is Monday, January 8, 2018. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is Jan. 15 and there will be NO school that day.

Have a blessed week.
